Clarion-Limestone will be holding its second Sustainability Fair on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
Where: Clarion-Limestone High School
Hosted by: Green Imprints and the Ecology classes at C-L
What: A resource fair showcasing student projects focused on sustainable living along with local businesses and community services which provide green products and services.
Included in this years fair:
Info on PennDOT's Adopt-a-Highway program, Clarion University's Sustainable Building Initiative, Veolia's recycling intitiative, home weatherization, clean automobile technology, alternative energy how to's, benefits of businesses going paperless, organic food taste testing, and various other green consumer resources.
*Activities for kids including a story telling hour and recycling games.
Local buisnesses who are providing green products and services are invited to participate for free, but space is limited. Interested participants can contact the group's advisor, Julie Graf at (814) 379-3075. Special Olympics Midwestern Spring Sectional (Sun, Apr 25th)

The Special Olympics (at Clarion) Midwestern Spring Sectional is a one day competition in individual, relay, and team events (including aquatics, athletics, basketball, golf, softball, and tennis)

Projected number of volunteers from the University and community: approx 300
The event is a qualifier for the summer games (in Athens, Greece, this year!)

The Clarion Area Chamber and the Redbank Valley Chamber are hosting a Casino Night to benefit their local fireworks shows.
Don’t waste your time and gas traveling to enjoy the thrills of a casino. Stay local and support your Chambers’ Independence Day celebrations by attending “Casino Night” Saturday, May 15, 2009 at the Gemmell Student Complex on the Clarion University campus.
Once again, the Clarion Area Chamber of Business & Industry and the Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce partner to bring another exciting event to the area. Plan now! Do not miss your chance to be part of an evening of entertainment, socializing, prizes, food, beverages and networking, all while helping the Chambers raise money for their free Community fireworks displays celebrating our nation’s independence.
Doors open at 6:00 P.M. and then at 7:00 P.M. the games begin with Craps, Roulette, Texas Hold’em Poker, Plinko, Money Wheel, Blackjack and Let It Ride Poker, as well as, Thoroughbred Horse Racing. Players bet on the table games and winners receive tickets which are then used in drawings for valuable prizes. The gaming concludes at 9:30 P.M. with prize drawings immediately following the close of gaming. Thanks to our generous sponsors, players have the chance to win some incredible prizes including a grand prize trip to sunny Long Boat Key, Florida from the C. P. Leach Agency.
Afraid to attend because you do not understand the games enough? At 6:30 P.M. there will be demonstrations and practice sessions with the friendly and knowledgeable celebrity dealers.
Whether you are into gaming, savoring the assortment of delicious food, socializing, networking or just want to support the Chambers’ fundraising efforts to provide another year of spectacular fireworks to the communities, there is something for everyone at “Casino Night”.
The cost for this event is $35 per person and you MUST BE 21 to attend. Only 300 tickets will be sold for this event. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR!
Don’t let transportation hold you back from this evening of entertainment in your own backyard. For a nominal fee, guests can board a bus at the Redbank Valley High School for a relaxed and carefree round trip shuttle.
Want to turn this evening of entertainment into a night of entertainment? The Clarion Holiday Inn is offering “Casino Night” accommodations. Anyone attending “Casino Night” can extend the fun with an overnight stay for the special rate of $59. Advance reservations are suggested.

Parade steps-off at 6:00 p.m.
The Parade route is Main Street at 7th Avenue to Main Street at 5th Avenue. The parade is sponsored by CACBI and organized by the Clarion Service Area, Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania.
Christmas Party - immediately following the parade approximately 6:30. American Legion Post #66 - 530 Main Street. The Clarion Service Area, Girl Scouts Western PA is hosting the annual Christmas party which includes a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as activity stations. Refreshments are provided.
